Landfill Management

The accumulation of waste in landfills and the natural environment can have a significant impact on air pollution, biodiversity and can pollute groundwater sources. Only 10% of waste that reaches a landfill is recycled. Recycling is key in reducing the volume of waste reaching a landfill site. Landfill sites across South Africa have a limited service life and are expected to be at capacity within the next 10 years. By limiting the amount of waste that goes to landfill we are not only reducing the carbon footprint of South Africa, but also ensuring a healthy and efficient ecosystem, free of pollutants.

BRS is passionate about moving South Africa towards a greener, more sustainable future by diverting waste from landfills. Every individual can make a difference. The first step towards recycling starts with you. If you cannot reduce, and you cannot reuse, then choose to recycle. BRS is here to help and guide you towards a more sustainable, responsible lifestyle.
